"After a google search for “fish & chips” Stanmore Fish & Chips appeared in the list of suggestions. Decided to give it a try and wasn’t disappointed! Had a fillet of hake and large chips for $17 and it was more than enough for me and two children! As a lover of the British style fish & chips this place hit the mark! Plus the lady serving was very polite and friendly."

"Great experience at our local. Brought the family down for a seafood fix for dinner. Quick service and very tasty seafood. Servings were big for the price. Kids walked away happy. We will be back."

"Update: it’s reopened with a different owner and it’s just as good! Will definitely be back :) One of the best fish and chips shop in Sydney! The service is quick efficient and helpful with very reasonable prices and wait times. Highly recommend anything with their chips as it’s just cooked to perfection. You could even get by with tartare sauce if you wanted to. It’s got the right amount of flavour salt and crispiness that you’d believe it was a high end restaurant. The fish burger is equally as amazing and they serve with a slice of cheese which is a nice touch and extra layer of flavour in each bite. I also would recommend the potato scallop as they’re much thicker but tastes just right in texture and flavour. There is plenty of timed street parking in the area and you’ll be a short walk away from the shops. It’s also near the train station if you are travelling in."

"Delicious fish n chips! Hoki was flaky and fresh and the batter was light and crispy, not too oily. The portion size was also good for the price. Also tried the calamari, prawn and seafood stick and all were equally as delicious and fresh! It's clear the owner takes a lot of pride in the food he serves - we had a great chat about how he gets the fish tasting so fresh and he brings 20 years of experience (cooking fish and chips, burgers) to the revamped and reopened Stanmore Fish n Chips. Highly recommend, I will be back!"

"Dropped in with a mate from work after a job and grabbed some fish and chips. Absolutely spot on, crispy fish, great chips, and solid portions. Friendly service too. Definitely a place we'll be coming back to."

"The fish and chips here were decent. I felt on some of the fish the batter was crispy and fluffy. Can't say much about the chips, heard they were supposed to be good but didn't live up to expectations was average. Flat head is good eating fish. Street parking available. There are council owned seats and tables oursode for eating."

"A takeout joint with friendly owners. Really affordable fish and chips $16 and $18 for the flathead and chips. If they made their own tartare sauce this would be an easy 5 stars. There’s outside seating nearby."
